Roswell HS
February 19
By Coach Andy Carr

The Milton Track & Field teams opened up their outdoor track season with the Swarm At the Nest meet hosted by Roswell HS and produced three new top-10 all-time marks in the 4×200m relay.

GIRLS
The Lady Eagles scored most of their team points from the distance runners as Milton (10th-39 pts) bested only 2 schools. Highlighting the girls were the runner-up finish by the 4×1600m relay team (2nd-23:27.70) consisting of Farrah Frith, Ella Grace Malcom, Genevieve Trainor & captain Shelby Howerton. The Lady Eagles had a few top-4 finishes individually including Sky Philpot in the discus throw (3rd-80’8”), Malcom in the 800m (3rd-2:26.22) & the girls 4×400m relay team (4th-4:33.35) of Jessica Sheinkopf, Megan Stechschulte, Leelah Dennis & Malcom coming back for her 3rd event of the meet! Even though not in the top-4, the girl’s 4×200m relay (11th-2:00.24) ran the 5th best performance in school history! That team included Hayden Bendall, Brynn Scheel, Maize Engbrecht & Leela Ravoori.

BOYS
Milton (11th-27 pts) bested only two schools but were highlighted by the performances in the 4×200m relay and the 4×400m relay. The team of Rio Breedlove, Ved Rao, Jack Lawson & Devin Dahunsi finished 2nd in the 4×200m (2nd-1:34.07) running the 2nd best time in school history! Not to be out done, the “B” boys 4×200m relay team (8th-1:38.99) ran the 7th best performance in school history. The boys 4×400m relay team (3rd-3:44.44) also finished in the top-3 with Dahunsi, Lawson, Breedlove & Ethan Hagel to help pace the Eagle effort.

In a unique event hosted by this meet, Milton was able to WIN the 8×200m relay which was a co-ed event. The Eagles ran 3:55.20 for the distance beating three other programs.

The Milton track teams next see action at home with a junior varsity quad meet hosting Roswell, Alpharetta & Marist on Wednesday February 23rd and the varsity squad will travel to West Forsyth HS for the Sawnee Mountain Invitational on Saturday February 26th.
