Meets at River Ridge, Lassiter Yield Top-Performances

The Eagle track & field team split up this past weekend to finish off their regular season of meets travelling to Lassiter High School in Marietta & River Ridge High School in Woodstock as a final tune-up heading into the region/sectional/state meet series. Overall, the girl’s team was 7th (56.5 pts) at River Ridge & 6th at Lassiter. The boys were 6th (48 pts) at River Ridge & 6th at Lassiter.

GIRLS
Highlights from both meets included top-3 finishers from:
-Sophomore Ella Grace Malcom-2nd 2:19.79-800m at Lassiter (5-second personal best & now is the 4th best performer in school history!)
-Junior Farrah Frith-3rd 5:13.32-1600m at Lassiter (a 5-second personal best & moves up to be the 6thbest performer in school history!)
-Junior Jade Sutters-1st 1:00.29-400m at River Ridge (won the event by 3-seconds!) & 3rd 27.22-200m at River Ridge
-Senior Genevieve Trainor-3rd 2:26.89-800m at River Ridge (a close to a 1-second personal best!)
-4×400m Relay Team-3rd 4:23.65 at River Ridge (running 2nd fastest time of the season!)

BOYS
Highlights from both meets included top-3 finishers from:
-Junior Cory Chambers-1st 9:45.91-3200m at Lassiter (a 5-second personal best!)
-Senior Andrew Dassler-2nd 13 ft-Pole Vault at Lassiter (has been top-2 in every meet this season!)
-Senior Ethan Marcum-2nd 50.22-400m at River Ridge (2nd best performance in this event this season)
-Sophomore Andrew Sirras-3rd 22.46-200m at River Ridge (just missing his PR by a few 100ths of a second)
-4×400m Relay Team -2nd 3:29.11 at River Ridge (running fastest time of the season!)
-Junior Devin Dahunsi-2nd 43’8”-Triple Jump at River Ridge (just missing his personal best by a half-inch)

The track & field teams next see action* Tuesday, April 26th* when they travel to Alpharetta High School for the first day of the GHSA Region 5-7A championships meet to determine who will advance to the GHSA sectionals meet on May 7th in Tifton, GA.
