The Eagle track teams again lowered some school records and set new top-10 school performance records as Milton was led by the Lady Eagles finishing runner-up at the Sawnee Mountain Invitational hosted by West Forsyth High School.

GIRLS
Milton (2nd-110 pts) bested 4 schools in finishing as the runners-up. Host West Forsyth (1st-237 pts) was the clear team champions. Leading the Lady Eagles was the new school record in the 4×200m relay (1st-1:49.20) which won the event outright and broke the old record by a full 3-seconds (1:52.22) that was set in 2012! Hayden Bendall, Nora Megenity, Jade Sutters & Jessica Sheinkopf won the fast section by just a half-second to snag the school record! Other top-10 marks achieved included Megenity in the triple jump (4th-32’-10.25”) moving from the 9th best to the 7th best all-time and Sutters in the long jump (1st-16’-7.5”) making her now the 5th best. Also helping lead the Lady Eagles were three event winners that included Genevieve Trainer in the 800m (1st-2:29.75), Ella Grace Malcom in the 3200m (1st-11:57.03) and the 8th best performance in school history by Farrah Frith in the 1600m (1st-5:18.00) which saw a Milton sweep of the top-3 spots! Following Frith were Megan Stechschulte (2nd-5:47.93) & captain Shelby Howerton (3rd-5:59.82).

BOYS
Not to be outdone by their female counterparts, Milton ‘s boys re-set the 4×200m relay (1st-1:32.51) school record by more than a full second (old record 1:33.72) set in 2020. The team of Devin Dahunsi, Ethan Hagel, Ved Rao & Jack Lawson were also the clear winners of the race by close to 4 seconds! Other meet winners included Andrew Dassler who began his comeback from injury with a win in the pole vault (1st-13’-06”) and the boys 4×100m relay team (1st-44.14) that included Dahunsi/Rao/Lawson & Robert Billings. Dahunsi also won the triple jump (1st-42’7”) earlier in the meet before his runs on both winning relay teams.

The Eagle track teams next see action on Wednesday, March 2nd at Centennial for a dual meet and then will host the Milton Showcase on March 4th & 5th! The 2-day meet will see close to 14 schools compete at the Nest.
