Sectional Results and New Top 10 List

May 8th

McEachern HS

The Milton Track & Field team competed at the GHSA sectionals meet on Saturday, May 8th and came away with 4 individual state qualifiers in 3 events for the boys and 1 relay team qualified for the girl’s team. The state meet for Milton athletes will be held on May 13-14 at McEachern HS in Powder Springs, GA.

BOYS

Milton had 4 individual qualifiers that will compete in the state meet later this week. Senior Jack Petkash led the boy’s team with his 3rd place finish in the 1600 meters (4:23.11) & 4th place finish in the 3200 meters (9:40.04). Petkash, who is the Milton stadium record holder in the 1600m (4:17.94), will go for a state title and possible school record (4:15.51) in that event along with the 3200m. Fellow senior & team captain Hayden Marshall qualified for the state meet in the 3200 meters going 9:42.07 good for 8th place after just missing qualifying in the 1600m with a 9th place finish earlier in the meet. Junior Andrew Dassler easily cleared 13 feet in the pole vault to qualify for the state meet where he will contend for the individual title this Friday morning.

GIRLS

The Lady Eagles will be represented at the state meet with the 4×800 meter relay team. The quartet ran an impressive 9:58.02 for 5th in the race and recorded the 4th best performance in school history! The team of freshman Ella Grace Malcom, sophomore Annalise Crow, junior Megan Stechschulte & sophomore Farrah Frith will contend for a podium (top-8 finish) at the state meet Thursday afternoon in the first year this event will be contested for a state championship title.

The new Top Ten Report as of 5/9/21 reflects changes for the following athletes and events:
Kennedy Nizdil going from #9 (1:01.77) to #8 (1:01.66) in the 400 meters
The Girls 4×800m Relay Team (freshman Ella Grace Malcom, sophomore Annalise Crow, junior Megan Stechschulte & sophomore Farrah Frith) ran a State qualifying time of 9:58.02 and recorded the 4th best performance in school history!
